AI native engineers, embedded in days

Team Augmentation

Senior engineers who work inside your repositories, your standups, and your sprint board, with agent tooling already in their hands.

What this is

Hiring a senior AI engineer takes four months and a compensation package you may not want to commit to before the roadmap is proven. Embedding one takes days. Our engineers join your Slack, your board, and your code review rotation, and they arrive already fluent in the agent tooling most teams are still evaluating.

What is included

  • Senior engineers only, with agent and automation tooling as a default skill
  • Embedded in your process: your board, your review standards, your definition of done
  • Full time or half time allocation, adjustable each month
  • Knowledge transfer built in so capability stays after the engagement ends
  • Replacement guarantee if the fit is wrong in the first two weeks

How we run it

  1. Role definition

Skills, seniority, timezone overlap, and the outcomes the role is accountable for.

  2. Match

Two or three candidates from the bench, with your team running the technical conversation.

  3. Onboard

Access, context, and a first shippable task inside week one.

  4. Operate

Your process, your standards. We stay out of the way.

  5. Transfer

Documentation and pairing so knowledge does not leave when the engagement does.

What you receive

  • Named engineer with a written profile and reference calls available
  • Onboarding plan for the first two weeks
  • Weekly written update alongside your normal ceremonies
  • Monthly capability review with your engineering lead
  • Documentation of everything built, kept current in your repository

Month one is refundable. If the first month does not land we return it. We would rather refund than carry a project neither side believes in.

The return

What this gives back, every month

Ranges, not promises. They come from published 2026 automation benchmarks and our own delivery data, and the audit re-runs them against your actual volumes before you commit anything.

Why buy it

The case for doing this now

The hire takes four months you do not have

Search, interview, notice period, ramp. By the time a permanent AI engineer is productive, two quarters of roadmap have passed.

The salary commitment precedes the proof

A fully loaded senior AI engineer is $300,000 to $460,000 a year in the US. Committing to that before the roadmap is validated is a large bet on an unproven direction.

Our engineers arrive already fluent

They bring the internal playbooks, the skill library, and the agent tooling most teams are still evaluating, and they can pull the wider team in for review.

Compared to the alternatives

What the same outcome costs elsewhere

Every option below solves some version of this problem. Here is what each one actually costs over twelve months.

First year total cost of one senior engineer on your team
Permanent hire
$360,000
Recruiter plus salary
$290,000
Staffing agency
$210,000
deepaibots
$81,600

Figures are indicative market ranges for a team of 10 to 60 staff, not quotes from named vendors. Staff time is costed at $38 an hour loaded, meaning salary plus employment cost plus overhead.

What changed

Why this is worth buying in 2026 and was not in 2024

The scope of this service moved with the tooling. These are the shifts that make the engagement materially better than the same brief eighteen months ago.

  • 01

The productivity gap between engineers who use agent tooling well and those who do not widened enough that tooling fluency is now a hiring criterion, not a bonus.

  • 02

Remote senior engineering normalized to the point that timezone overlap, not location, is the constraint worth negotiating.

  • 03

Agent assisted development shifted the scarce skill from writing code toward reviewing, scoping, and verifying it, which is exactly where senior time pays back.

FAQ

Team Augmentation: your questions

What timezones do you cover?

Engineers are available with meaningful overlap for North America, UK, Europe, MENA, and Australia. Overlap hours are agreed before start.

Can we hire them permanently?

Yes, after six months with no conversion fee. Before six months a pro rated fee applies. It is written into the agreement.

How is this different from a staffing agency?

The engineer arrives with our internal playbooks, skill library, and tooling, and they can pull the rest of our team in for review when something falls outside their depth.
